What is Parthenope if not a love letter of youth?
Her body was brought by the tide to the place where the Castel dell’Ovo is now built, and therefore she gave the name to the city that later became Neapolis, Naples. In the film, Parthenope is the personification of the city of Naples. Heat Written by Peter Gregson Starring Peter Gregson, Warren Zielinski, Magdalena Filipczak, Laurie Anderson, Ashok Klouda.
It is impossible not to fall for her
Celeste dalla Porta embodies all the years we’ve lived and forgotten, all the pain and love we’ve endured, all the nights we’ve been up talking nonsense. Sorrentino was able to capture her beauty and built a movie around it. Rather, she is an ideal woman, a kind of deity: too perfect to be true.
This creates a sense of artificiality that can be distracting and uncomfortable
How could you not stare in awe when her meditative gaze turns to a smile: falling in love is so easy. So I declare: a new Diva is born, a timeless star, eternally young. Except for Celeste, the film seems to be looking for only the best shots and poetic quotes.
I hope you might be too
The narrative is loose and the plot is essentially non-existent as the film cares more about chasing aesthetics than building a cohesive story. It’s an artistic choice that some may love and others may hate. I love Celeste dalla Porta in this movie and I am more than happy.
